The AMD Akademie Mode & Design (Academy of Fashion & Design) is the department of design of Hochschule Fresenius-University of Applied Sciences. The Academy was founded in Hamburg in 1989. In 2005 the Senate of the Free and Hanseatic City of Hamburg recognized AMD as a private higher education institution. This was followed by institutional accreditation by the German Scientific Council. In 2013 the university programs of AMD were integrated in Hochschule Fresenius-University of Applied Sciences.
AMD develops educational programs for the creative sector and qualifies graduates for the fields of fashion, design, communication and management. Its extensive portfolio includes bachelor and master courses and also vocational programs and continuing education. The guiding principles of course development are interdisciplinary education, innovation and quality.
Hamburg, Dusseldorf, Berlin, Wiesbaden and Munich
Bachelor and master courses in the field of Fashion & Design plus vocational courses and further education in fashion journalism/media communication, styling and manageresses.

AMD has been state-recognized since 2005. As a faculty of Hochschule Fresenius it has been accredited by the German Scientific Council and applies the university’s system accreditation to the recognition of new study programs. It is certified according to ISO standard 9001 and 29990 and approved as educational institutions by the AZAV.
